Jerry Wayne “Peck” Jones, 76, of Big Springs, West Virginia, passed away July 21, 2025, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
He was born March 31, 1949, in Grantsville, WV, a son of the late Oval D. And Alma J. Lanham of Munday, WV.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sherry Jones; daughters Jennifer Conley (Joe Gibson) of Elizabeth, WV and Stacie Willis; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; sisters Barb Moore (Chucky) of Nutter Fort, WV; Susie Gregg (Brad) of Burnt House, WV; Sissy Givens of Parkersburg, WV; Helen Sampson (Gerald) of Sycamore Rd.; Cathy Morris (Bill) of Sycamore Rd.; Patty Wilson (Bruce); Connie Starcher (Keith); three brothers Argil Jones of Freeport, WV; Billbob Richards (Cathy) of Annamoriah, WV; and Allen “Mouse” Richards (Emma) of Big Springs, WV.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughters Connie Bailey and Janet Jones and brother Jimmy Richards.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 107 Market Street, Grantsville, WV 26147, on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Owl Hill Cemetery on Chestnut Run, Wirt County, WV, at a later date.
