Calhoun Circuit Court opened Thursday morning with the first case of the day, that of Larry Robert Joseph. Stemming from at 2020 case, Joseph was charged with 1st violation of Probation in case 20-F-30. He appeared with his attorney Daniel Minardi and Prosecuting Attorney Nigel Jeffries.

On August 29th, 2022 Joseph had failed a routine drug screen required for probation, a fact he did not deny. He did however deny having used the methamphetamine that was found in the drug screen, stating that he believed the positive results could have come from the person conducting the screening who had only been clean for approximately 1 year. Judge Anita Ashley said that while he confessed to the positive screen, she was concerned with the denial.

Joseph had been on Probation for three years without issue and maintained a job. With that in mind Judge Ashley sentenced him to a 45 day sanction of home confinement with all costs related to be paid by the defendant.
