Kilgore & Beckett Arrested for Attempt to Commit Petit Larceny

Sr. Trooper J.D. Richards arrested Stephan Dewayne Kilgore and Crystal Beckett on September 8th, 2024, filing the following complaint in the Magistrate Court of Calhoun County.

On Sunday, September 9, 2024 at approximately 5:10 p.m., Calhoun Control received a call from a victim in the Orma area stating that she was currently at her newly purchased home and was observing several individuals removing permanent fixtures from a trailer affixed to her property.

On that same date at approximately 5:30 p.m. Sr. Trooper Richards arrived on scene and observed Stephan Kilgore, with power tools in hand assisting in taking sheets of corrugated tin roofing that was screwdriver and secured to the trailer, off the trailer. The roofing was then being stacked onto a trailer attached to the back of a black pickup to be hauled away.

The Trooper spoke with the victim who stated that Stephan Kilgore and Crystal Beckett were at the address, supposedly to get their belongs removed from the property by September 9th, 2024. She further stated that there was no agreement for Mr. Kilgore or Ms. Beckett to take anything other than their belongings.

Sr. Trooper Richards inspected underneath the trailer and found that the house trailer was affixed to the ground of the property by being set on cinder blocks. The corrugated tin was estimated at a price of $300.

The trooper ordered Mr. Kilgore to remove the tin from the trailer and place it in the yard of residence. Kilgore and Beckett were then placed into custody on the charge of Attempt to Commit a Misdemeanor (Petit Larceny). Kilgore was also charged with Destruction of Property.

Trooper Richards transported Kilgore and Beckett to the WV State Police for processing
