Lenard Wilson, a devoted family man and pillar of his community, passed away at the age of 84. Born on April 15, 1940, Lenard lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a passion for helping others.
Throughout his career, Lenard worked at various jobs, including Calhoun Super Service, Bob Yoak Ford, Grantsville Foodland, and the Town of Grantsville’s sanitation department, from which he retired.
In his free time, Lenard enjoyed hunting, building, and cooking. He took great pride in constructing his own home and crafting birdhouses. His love for baking was renowned, and he loved sharing his homemade biscuits, cakes, and fudge with his family. Apple pie was a favorite treat he always looked forward to.
Lenard’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbra (Richards) Wilson; son, Matthew Wilson; daughter, Stephanie Wilson; grandson, Alex Wagoner; and son-in-law, Kevin Wagoner (Sheena). He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Stella (Harris) Wilson; sister, Juanita Wilson; and granddaughter, Josie Wagoner.
Lenard will be deeply missed for his generous spirit, infectious humor, and unwavering dedication to those around him. His legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire his family and community.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV, on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Kevin Church officiating.
