Let’s be frank about Frankincense

Let’s be frank… I am in no way, shape nor form a medically trained person, and make no boasts that I am even well trained in essential oils. I’m a person of study and I seek information regarding essential oils from those who are very well trained and have the credentials to back it up. The only credentials I have is a few courses of study under my belt and a lot of trial and error on figuring out what works for my family. When someone brings an issue to my attention, I do my due diligence to research it and armed with that evidence offer them a course of attack for the issue with the information I’ve found.

An issue for multiple members of my family is joint and arthritis pain. My younger sister SarahJane told me about her use of Frankincense Oil quite some time ago. But what could a younger sister possibly teach an older sister, right? And so I ignored her. My even younger niece Holly told me about her use of oils, but she’s a hippy child, so I wasn’t going to listen to her.

Out of curiosity I began to dabble in oils a few years ago. Mostly for the purpose of defusing for the scent value. Not even understanding that the oils were mentally and physically helping me as they wafted through the air in my home! But then I discovered Simply Earth. A company that not only provided me affordable oils, but trained me how to use them to create a healthier home and make useful and fun products.

So today, I’m sharing with you the benefits of Frankincense Essential oil. Most Christians probably can’t hear the word without thinking about it being one of the gifts from the Kings that was given to Jesus’ parents after His birth. Which speaks to it’s value. Even thousands of years ago, people knew the healing value of essential oils.

Each essential oil has its own unique smell and potential health benefits. Frankincense is not one of the most widely used oils, but it does have potential health benefits. The scent is often described as rich, warm, and woody, possibly spicy, coming from trees in the Boswellia family.

Research shows that frankincense is useful for:

  • Antimicrobial
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Pain-relieving (analgesic)
  • Anti-cancer

I only know what I have experienced in my home or shared with friends and family.

My husband, who could also be called “Doubting Dave,” is not one that buys in to anything I’m selling. He know that I can be gullible. But after hearing him complain for several days about excruciating joint pain in his hand, I told him I’d concoct him a remedy. He rolled his eyes, but desperate to rid himself of the pain, he agreed to allow me to apply my recipe of Frankincense with a carrier oil of coconut. No comments were made that day of great gratitude, but there wasn’t any more complaining either! The next morning he asks me “Where’s that oil?”

Ha! I knew I was on to something for him. I made him a roll on of the Frankincense and carrier oil which he can (and does) apply on his own.

I have severe ankle pain due to a cholesterol medicine I take, so seeing how well the Frankincense worked for David, I tried it myself. Low and behold it worked wonderfully. I have since made and recommended the recipe for others who have garnered good results in reducing inflammation and helping with pain.

Frankincense is only one of many, many oils with healing benefits. If you’d like to know more or order yourself a bottle ($19.99 + tax), let me know at talk2shari@gmail.com

  1. Is your frankincense from Yemen? Because origin might be important to your potential customers. We don’t really wanna buy products from countries that hate us. I’m not that crazy about African frankincense either, especially Somalian produced exports. BUY AMERICAN.
