I Just wanted to take a minute this morning before heading to church to share my two favorite moments of the 2024 Calhoun Lincoln Day Dinner. I’ll share the story later today and more news, but for now just this. Governor Jim Justice was such an encourager last night. He is an absolute cheerleader and believer in great possibilities for the State of West Virginia and his country boy dialect makes him that much more appealing.
Across from me sat one of my favorite people, Alvin Engelke. Alvin attempts to impress no one. He’s as real and raw as a person gets and he cuts nobody, including the Governor, any slack. My conversation with him was a great joy of the evening.
