Webster county traveled to Mt Zion on Sunday and got swept by the Little Red Devils. Webster County does have an A team, so officially the game is recorded as 6-0 forfeit with Calhoun getting the win.
C team played their best game of the season and came away with a 33-14 victory. Haygan Houchin paced the Red Devils offensively with 11 carries for 137 rushing yards and had 3 touchdowns (61, 27 and 10 yards. He also converted 2 extra point runs. Colten Heiney added 141 rushing yards with 2 touchdowns (84, 17) on 7 carries. He also converted an extra point run. Quinten Parkin had 6 carries for 70 yards. And Raines Riddel added 2 rushing yards on 1 carry. Defensively Houchin had 10 tackles. Carper Summers, Raines Riddel and Quinten Parkin had 3 tackles each. Braxton Carter and Colten Heiney had 2 tackles a piece. And Michael McClain, Scarlett Probasco and Thorin Gungle each had 1 tackle. Colten Heiney also added a fumble recovery.
The last game of the day was the undefeated B team. Webster county only had 10 kids and Calhoun took their 11th player off the field to match them 10 on 10. Even with the change Calhoun came out and played their normal ballgame. Coming away with a 56-0 victory. Offensively the coaches spread the touches out as 10 Calhoun had at least 1 rushing attempt. Bentley Snodgress led the Devils on the day with 106 yards on 4 carries and had 2 touchdowns (4 and 34 yards). Josh Hardbarger added 101 yards on 7 carries with 2 touchdowns (11 & 14). Tyler Mayle had 2 rushes for 57 yards with 1 touchdown (40), Grayson Laughlin had 29 yards on 2 carries with a touchdown (6). Liam Yeager had a 32 yard rushing touchdown on his lone rush of the day. Jase Farley had 4 rushes for 58 yards and 1 touchdown (32). Brantley Schoolcraft had 42 yards on 3 carries and 1 touchdown (9). Silas Cunningham had 2 rushes for 4 yards. Chandler Cottrell had 1 rush for an 8 yard extra point. And Carter had 1 rush for a 3 yard extra point.
Defensively for the Red Devils Grayson Laughlin and Bentley each had 5 tackles on the day. Tyler a Mayle had 4 tackles. Tristan Rogers and Silas Cunningham each added 3 tackles. Carter Thompson, Liam Yeager and Josh Hardbarger each had 2 tackles and Chandler Cottrell had 1 tackle. Snodgress had 2 Fumble Recoveries and Grayson Laughlin added 1.
Next Saturday October 8th Calhoun will travel to Ravenswood for their final regular season contest. A and C team will be playing for bragging rights and trying to finish up the season with 2 consecutive wins as they are both statistically eliminated from the playoffs. B team will try to finish off their undefeated season and hold onto the top playoff seed.
