A single motorcycle accident in the 8,000 block of South Calhoun Highway left the cyclist, Daniel Emory, with a likely broken nose when he face planted after losing control of his Harley Davisson motorcycle in a sharp turn, and then was ejected over the handlebars and into the yard of resident Bill Burch.
Several people stopped to offer aid and even shade for the injured rider until Trooper J.D. Richards of the West Virginia State Police and Minnie Hamilton Health Systems EMS arrived on scene.
Following a refusal for transport, he returned to his bike and rode away, not quite into the sunset, but at least the injury to himself and to his motorcycle didn’t prevent it.
