Loris Bailey Jarvis, 93, of Minnora WV, passed away Thursday evening, January 25, 2024, at WV Caring Hospice Care in Elkins, WV. She had been living with her son, Kenneth R. Bailey and his wife, Lorraine, for almost a year.
She was born in Minnora, WV, on February 5, 1930, the daughter of Doddridge and Zenna R Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, Wheeler Bailey, who passed away in 1991, and her second husband of 5 years, Paris Bruce Jarvis, who passed away in 2003. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lorna (Bailey) Boggs (Jack), and her brothers, Encil Bailey (Nila), and Denzil Bailey (Alma).
Loris is survived by her son, Kenneth (Lorraine), 2 grandchildren, Brian Ray Bailey (Christy), and Amy Watkins Wade (Oras), and 4 great-grandchildren.
Loris was a member of Milo Church for many years. She was a teacher’s aide and a cook for the Calhoun School District. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and belonged to the Eastern Star.
The family would like to thank WV Caring Hospice and their wonderful people who took great care of Loris, and Betty, Amy, Crissy, and Doug. We couldn’t have done it without their help.
