Martha Geen Leigh, 90, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away, July 24, 2025, at WVU Thomas Memorial Hospital, following a sudden illness.
She was born August 23, 1934, a daughter of the late Huey and Ethel Jarvis Hicks.
Martha was a member of Spencer Tabernacle. She loved gospel music. She loved traveling and camping. She enjoyed working around her house and with her plants. She worked in greenhouses in Akron, Ohio for many years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by grandson Steven Brooks Leigh, brothers Steven Hicks of Medina, Ohio; Billy Hicks of Lodi, Ohio; and Perry Hicks; and sisters Dorothy Horton and Jessie Metheney.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Garland Steven Leigh; son Richard Garland Leigh, Sr.(Wife Patsy McKown Leigh); grandchildren Tracy Carpenter of Spencer, WV; Richard Garland Leigh, Jr. of Columbia, SC; and Kristy Leigh of Streetsboro, Ohio; great-grandchildren Karena Mae Leigh of Streetsboro, Ohio; Ryan James Leigh and Renton John Leigh, both of Columbia, SC; Phillip Sheets of Pittsburgh, PA, and Gabriel Carpenter of Spencer, WV; great-great-grandchildren Koralena Mae Horning and Arabella Rose Horning; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life with be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 1440 Arnoldsburg Rd., Arnoldsburg, WV. 25234, of Monday, July 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Loren Price officiating.
