Melvin Keith Hays, 82, of Arnoldsburg, WV, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at Roane General Hospital-LTC, Spencer, WV.
He was born August 27, 1942, at Left Hand, WV, a son of the late Isaac Jackson and Mildred Snodgrass Hays. He was retired from General Motors. He enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Church Hays; children Jeff (Glenna) Hays and Kevin (Jennifer) Hays; grandchildren Jeffrey, Kyle, Brittany, Holly, and Kevin, Jr.; great-grandson Manson; sister Patsy (Jack) Keough; brother Larry (Margarite) Hays.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Carl Hays, Bill Hays, and Dan Hays, sister Eleanor Hays Smith, and grandson Travis.
A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc., 1440 Arnoldsburg Rd., Arnoldsburg, WV 25234, on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Gary Drake officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Clover Cemetery, Spencer, WV.
