Metz facing charges of Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication

According to a Criminal Complaint filed by Trooper Brian Young, on Monday, September 5, 2022 at approximately 5:30 p.m. he received a call from Calhoun County Dispatch in reference to a drunk female walking on the roadway near 1289 East Little Kanawha Highway in Grantsville, WV. The caller had stated the individual was drunk and yelling and removing her clothing. Trooper young then drove to that location, but prior to his arrival he located the same female, Tara Metz walking west along the roadside near the guard rail. He then activated his emergency lights and got out ofthe vehicle and spoke to the accused at which time he noticed the high odor of alcohol emitting from her breath. When inquiring as to what had happened, Ms. Metz stated that she had been drinking all day and gotten into a verbal altercation with the individuals in front of the apartment complex due to a relationship that she had had with one of the females significant other.

This officer then placed the accused in the back of his cruiser before continuing to the residence and speaking with the complainants. This officer spoke with a Susan Powers, and Ted Finchman, who stated the accused had been dropped off near the residence and appeared to be drunk and was yelling profanity. They stated she also pulled her pants down and urinated in public in front of them and their children before leaving the area.

Trp. Young provided a courtesy transport of Ms. Metz back to her residence at 313 Main St., Grantsville, WV, at which time he issued her a WV uniform citation for disorderly conduct. He explained to the accused that if she left her residence again that evening or caused a disturbance she would be placed under arrest upon his return.

At 7:20 p.m.Trooper Young received another call from 911 in reference to Ms. Metz. The caller stated she could hear a woman screaming and yelling near Main St. When the officer arrived, he observed the accused seated on her steps. and asked if she was the one yelling, to which she stated “no.” However when the neighbors were questioned about the incident they stated that it was Ms. Metz yelling and causing the disturbance.

The accused was ask to blow into his FST (Field Sobriety Test)  to determine her BAC (Blood Alcohol Concentration) he results were .130% BAC. Tara Metz, of Grantsville, WV, age 39, was then arrested for Disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

All acts occurred in Calhoun County, WV.
