In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation’s communities. National Emergency Medical Services Week brings together local communities and medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine’s frontline.
Minnie Hamilton Celebrated EMS Week by inviting multiple agencies and the community to come together for an evening of introductions to those who serve. Minnie Hamilton EMS, Sheriff Warren Basnett, Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department and Health Net allowed families to examine their Emergency Service Units (Fire trucks, Ambulances and the Helicopter.) EMT’s, Paramedics, Flight Medic and Nurses as well as the Pilot and multiple fire department personnel anwered questions, permitted children to sit their seats and they occasionally got to blow the horns and sirens. Introducing children those who serve in emergency role will make it an easier transition by children if the need ever arise that they need those services.
Crew Members participating in the EMS event were:
Minnie Hamilton EMS staff: JJ Bremar, Eddie Combs, Jason Wilson, Kaloni Ruiz, and Brandon Holly.
Grantsville Fire Department: Fire Chief David Johnson, Asst. Fire Chief Craig Gherke, Firefighter Jon Fleagle, Firefighter Ray Hickman
