Farm road entrance

First reported missing to 911 on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, a 79 year old man from Left Fork Road was undiscovered until Tuesday morning, September 30th, 2025, when Becky Keener went to take care of his home and animals and thought she heard someone yelling.

Mrs. Keener said that David Deiter could have been missing for as many as 9 days, believing he could have laid at the base of a hill off of Left Fork without notice.

The entrance of Left Fork Road runs from the bottom of Millstone Hill on Route 16 South Calhoun Highway, through to Russet Road, Route 7. Mr. Deiter was found at 3 1/2 miles from the Millstone road entrance.

Deiter was found by Philip and Becky Keener around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning who then called Calhoun Control. Control dispatched Callhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department who arrived on scene using the side by side of AVFD. Once on scene treatment of Mr. Deiter began who was talking and coherent about the event but was suffering from several bruises and cuts. Both the EMS and fire crews worked to load the victim into the stokes basket and onto the side by side to drive him out of the field.

Once Mr. Deiter was loaded he was taken by ambulance to the Grantsville Helicopter Landing site for transport to another hospital for treatment. Ridgeview will update more on this story when further information is provided.
