Republicans Weaken Our Military Leadership When We Most Need It
Hamas, the Islamist terrorist organization, attacked Israel on October 7. Rampaging across the border, Hamas militants committed unspeakable atrocities, raping women and parading them naked, beheading babies, and randomly, brutally, killing or taking hostage everyone they came upon.
President Biden called it “an act of sheer evil.” Biden promised US military assistance and said he would ask Congress to take urgent action.
Good luck asking Congress to take urgent action.
Thanks to MAGA Republicans only the Senate half of Congress is functioning at all. Right wing Republicans threw out their speaker for working with Democrats. Now the House can do nothing until it elects a speaker and Republicans can’t even find a moderate willing to run.
Meanwhile, in the Senate –
For months, Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama has blocked all military confirmations, more than 300 of the United States’ most senior military officers. Aircraft carriers USS Gerald R Ford and USS Dwight D Eisenhower are heading to the waters off Israel with their associated warships and fighter jets. But the US has no Chief of Naval Operations, thanks to Tuberville.
Tuberville, who never served in the military, is holding up all military confirmations because of a Pentagon policy that covers travel costs for femalesoldiers seeking an abortion who must travel across state lines to get one. Tuberville says the war in Israel will have no effect on his hold, claiming it doesn’t affect military readiness.
That’s simply ignorant. Of course, his hold is seriously undermining military readiness and our national security, as Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said last week.
Tuberville says he supports Israel. Does Tuberville know or care that in Israel women have access to abortion pills at local health clinics?
America currently has no ambassador to Israel or Egypt, Kuwait or Oman. Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has been holding up Middle East diplomat confirmations. Cruz claims, without evidence, that Biden’s nominees lie to Congress about countering Iran and deepening the US-Israel relationship.
In a Republican sideshow, Republican J.D. Vance of Ohio has a hold on all Department of Justice nominees because of Trump being indicted. Republican Senator Hawley of Missouri has a hold on all Department of Energy nominees because he wants an action plan for combating radioactive waste in St. Louis.
Rather than use the great powers of their offices as senators to govern, these Republican senators find it easier just to pander to their base and stop our government from functioning at all.
This would be just more Republican performance politics and petty political theater. Except now the stakes are immeasurably higher. War in Ukraine, war in the Middle East, while our military is undermanned and our diplomatic posts are empty.
Republicans clearly no longer support a strong military or our national defense. Send them home and elect Congress people who do.

Hello again Diedre. I want to thank you again for bringing up the Democrat talking points. Again, you seem to have the right concepts, you just assign them and their talking points to the wrong entities. You talk about the horrors that are happening in Israel. You are correct. The things Hamas does is cowardly and horrifying. They are to cowardly to fight man to man in combat, so they attack innocent civilian women and children. The rape and murder and beheadings of babies etc, is really no different than what the cartels do to the people they illegally traffic across the borders, Both the northern and southern border. The sex trafficking of women and children as well as forced slave labor is defended by democrats as human rights! Why does beheading of babies bother Dems. Thanks to their abortion policies we abort over 70 babies per hour, every hour , seven days a week 365 days a year, Therefore open the borders? Why would Dems feign care for Israel if they openly promote it here? Dems proudly not only promote the the killing of innocent babies, they demand it. Dems talk one thing but look at what they are doing. You cry funding for Ukraine. Zelenskys wife just finished another one of her million dollar shopping trips in New York. People here struggle to buy food. But who cares for them. Just keep the money flowing. Which Biden promised to the European Union just hours after Israel was attacked. As far as Israel. where did Hamas get their funding? Biden gave it to them via Iran. Where did Hamas get their weapons? Biden, via what he left in Afganistan. We pay for hostages because we are to militarily week to go get them. Thanks to Biden. You decry the house for not doing anything. You are correct about that. You blame MAGA. Wrong. It is MAGA that is trying to bring morals, logic and common sense, as well as America first interests to the fore front. It is the handful of MAGA people there who are trying to rebuild and save our country. McCarthy is out because all he did was throw true conservatives under the bus and green light everything the Dems demanded. You also seem to forget that the Shumer controlled Democratic Senate majority is awful quiet. Why? Because most back Palestine and Hamas, Ask the squad how they really feel about Israel and Americans? They proudly fly Palestinian flags. You are right about the majority of elected Reps. though. They are the bigger hypocrites. They run and get elected as Reps but do everything the Dem. party tells them. Case in point, where are the Rep. elected D.A.’S The Dems are throwing everything they can at Trump to keep him from being reelected, in kangaroo courts. Yet except for a few MAGA patriots, who goes afte Biden and sons illegal dealings. If it was anyone else, we would never see the outside of a jail cell until we are buried. Thats why many of us have cut ties with the Rep. party. We still hold some of their stated principals , (even though the actions of the Rinos do otherwise) like abortion, strong military, legal immigration, etc. But do not back the RINOS. The Pences, the Romneys, the Capitos etc. We also cut no deals with the like of the biggest traitor of all, Manchin. He gave the deciding vote on the Dems green new deal then they threw him under the bus. Then he cries foul. He votes to take away mining jobs from West Virginian coal miners and all while filling up his 12 cylinder Ferrari. He also has no problem with China opening between 1 to 3 coal driven plants every week. Yet shuts us down. He also voted for the Supreme court justice who cannot define what a woman is. These are just symptoms of alot bigger picture. Granted, I take a Christian stance and worldview. That is why I am MAGA. Others feel the same way and our voices will not be silenced by Dems. Reps, Inds or anyone else. Every citizen has a right to voice their opinion. The shed blood and hardships that went into giving us the greatest country the world has ever seen is not going to be destroyed because of the few selfish people who want to line their pockets with the blood of those who fought for this country. Again, as a Christian, Jesus told the church of Laodicea that because they were neither hot nor cold, ( in other words, not take a stand) he spits them out of His mouth. Its time to take a stand. Everyone needs to decide what side they are on. Jesus did not compromise on what He deemed right. Neither will most MAGA.
