GLENVILLE, WV – On Thursday, January 5, Glenville State University President Dr. Mark A. Manchin welcomed faculty and staff back to campus for the start of the spring semester.

The opening meeting is held at the beginning of each semester and serves as a chance for all members of the faculty and staff ranks to come together to reconnect, hear campus updates, and prepare for the upcoming term.

“I always enjoy when all of our faculty and staff can gather for this State of the University address,” Manchin said. “It is a good opportunity not only for everyone to catch up with one another after the holidays, but also to get a jumpstart on the new term and hear some institutional updates. I know that we are all looking forward to a great spring semester here at Glenville State.”

In addition to general campus updates from Manchin, opening meeting attendees also heard updates from administrators on topics including enrollment, student life, athletics, academics, business and finance, facilities, fundraising, and advancement.

Faculty and staff also had the opportunity to attend workshops throughout the week on a variety of topics, including advising, suicide risk reduction training, the video management platform Panopto, and more.

Spring semester classes begin Monday, January 9.
