Opportunity for Students desiring a Military Career through Manichin and WVU

Each year, Senator Manchin nominates students in West Virginia for appointments to the four military service academies. Admissions into the service academies are highly competitive and require congressional nominations.

To assist students interested in a career in the military, Senator Manchin, in conjunction with WVU, will host an Academy Training Day to help middle school and high school students prepare for a military future. Students will have the opportunity to speak in-person to Service Academy representatives from West Point, Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, and the Merchant Marine Academy.  Congressional offices will also be on site for rising seniors interested in applying for a nomination.  A host of active duty and retired military will support students as they experience intense fitness preparedness and leadership activities.  The day will be packed with fun, fitness, and a focus on the military future of students.
