It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Nida of Creston, WV, on January 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Pat passed peacefully, surrounded by family, after her third courageous battle with breast cancer.
Pat was born on March 3, 1949, in Creston, West Virginia, to Oris and Sylvia Meadows. She grew up in Wirt County and was known for her unwavering devotion to her family, her incredible strength, and her sense of humor that could light up any room. Pat enjoyed quilting, spending time with friends, listening to the music of Elvis Presley and Conway Twitty, and filling her home with warmth and laughter. Her generosity and kindness extended to everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
Pat is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Peggy Nida (Kevin) and Angela Nida (Sally); her siblings, Larry Meadows (Christina), Peggy Hacker (Darrell), Maysel Miller (David), and Judy Meadows; her grandchildren, Ana, Jacob, and Zachary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. She also leaves behind many who lovingly called her “Mom” or “Aunt.” She was preceded in death by her devoted spouse, Wayne Nida; her parents, Oris and Sylvia Meadows; her brother, Roger Meadows; her nephew, David “Bub” Miller; and her cousin, Kitty Lowther.

Family and friends are invited to attend, share memories, and honor her extraordinary life. Pat’s strength, warmth, and enduring spirit will be missed beyond measure. Her legacy of love, resilience, and joy will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Komen Foundation (https://www.komen.org/how-to-help/donate/) to support breast cancer research and advocacy.
The family also encourages everyone to prioritize their health by scheduling regular checkups and cancer screenings, as early detection is one of the most effective tools in the fight against breast cancer.
