Pine Creek Fire Destroys Garage & Truck

Jack and Lola Clark who live in the 6900 block of Pine Creek Road, Mt. Zion West Virginia were home when the fire began in a garage a short distance from their house around 1 p.m. on October 11, 2024. Jack had just come into the house for an afternoon snack of “Dirt Pudding” when they heard an explosion outside. The garage was quickly engulfed, also destroying a flat bed truck that was parked in front of the garage doors.

Jack and Lola their treasured pup 🐶 Lucky watching the emergency crews extinguish the fire from the porch with Minnie Hamilton EMS Director Jason Wilson.

The providence of God…

Jack stated that he had do doubt he’d have been killed if he’d have stayed in the garage where the explosion occurred. He believes it might have been caused by natural gas, but cannot say that for certain.

Grantsville and Arnoldsburg Fire Departments both responded as well as Minnie Hamilton Ambulance Service and the Division of Forestry.

Due to the dry conditions it didn’t take much to catch the hillside on fire beside the Clark home, burning the wooded area surrounding their home and garage location.
