Reedy Lucky 4-H Club Completes Community Service Projects for April and May. The 4-H club conducts Adopt-a-Highway project each year on US Route 14 from Terrell’s Metal and Farm Supply in Reedy to the Wirt County line and back in April. In May, the 4-H club buys flowers and mulch and weeds, cleans, prunes, and mulches while planting new annual and perennial flowers in the flower beds at Peniel Community Church located on US Route 33 in Reedy each May. They keep up the flowerbeds for the church to show their appreciation for the use of the church as their monthly meeting location. If you are interested in volunteering as an adult volunteer or having your children join the club, please reach out to organizational club leader Brittany Ward or assistant leaders Brandy Brabham or Jeanette Atkinson. Children 5-8 years old can join as a cloverbud and 9–20-year-old youth can join as 4-H members. The new year begins each October, but enrollment is open all year long. You can call the WVU-Roane County Extension office at 304-927-0975 for more information or to find a club in your community or start your own with five youth and two vetted adult volunteers.#
