Richard Dale “Rick” Harrison Obituary

Richard Dale “Rick” Harrison, 72, of Chloe, West Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 1, 2025.

Born on March 28, 1953, in Ivydale, West Virginia, Rick lived a life rooted in family, faith, and the simple joys of nature. Rick was a devoted husband to Elwona “Sue” Harrison for 50 years—a bond that stood as a testament to unconditional love and partnership. Together they built a family that Rick cherished most of all. He was the proud father of Andy (Tracy) Harrison, and Jennifer (David) Boggs. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Marissa, Briaunna, Courtany, Sierra and great-granddaughter Wrenly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Bessie Harrison; six brothers—George, David, Jack, Walter, Patrick, and Gary Harrison; and one sister, Joann Ashley.

Rick found peace and comfort in the outdoors. Whether it was hunting or simply spending time outside, he found solace under God’s creation. Rick’s heart belonged to Mud Fork Church where he attended with his wife Sue. His love for the congregation was evident in his kindness toward others. Music held a special place in Rick’s life as well. He enjoyed attending Bluegrass sings. Rick cherished his family. Rick’s joy came from seeing others around him smile and laugh. His kindness left an impression on everyone who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Mud Fork Church, 1501 Stinson Rd, Chloe, WV, with Pastor Lester Tanner officiating, on December 16, 2025, at 11:00am.
