Robby Lamp Sr Charged with Petit Larceny following Theft of License Plate

Sometime between October 1 and October 7, 2022, a license plate was stolen from a vehicle belonging to Joe Cain, while the vehicle was on the property of Joe Cain. According to a complaint filed by WV State Police D.C. Moore, Robby Lamp Sr. was at the residence around the time the license plate had been stolen. On November 25, 2022, the license plate was found to be attached to a vehicle that Robby Lamp was operating while he had gone to the residence of Joe Cain.

The license plate was taken from Mr. Lamp’s vehicle, just prior to the WVSP Moore conducting a traffic stop on the defendant. The Cain’s property where the license plate was stolen from, and where the license plate was recovered is solely in the confines of Calhoun County.

Lamp was charged with Petit Larceny as defined in 61-3-13b of the code of the State of West Virginia.

Grand and petit larceny distinguished; penalties. (b) If a person commits simple larceny of goods or chattels of the value of less than $1,000, such person is guilty of a misdemeanor, designated petit larceny, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be confined in jail for a term not to exceed one year or fined not to exceed $2,500, or both, in the discretion of the court.

Robby Lamp Sr. Was arrested and taken to WV Central Regional Jail on December 5, 2022 where he is being held on $2,500 bond.
