Ronzil D. Lynch Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family of Ronzil D. Lynch, 85, of Mt. Zion, WV, announce his passing of this earthly world and to the entry of a heavenly one.

He was born April 1st, 1939 to the late G. Russell Lynch and Madaline B. Stutler Lynch.

Ronzil grew up in Calhoun County, and he lived a Tom Sawyer type childhood as he encountered many adventures with his best cousin Harold Stutler and life long friend Robert Weaver. Ronzil graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1958 and he began a very diverse life when he enlisted with the United States Navy. Ronzil retired as a Chief Petty Officer and after serving his country, he worked as an electrician for the Newport News Shipyard in Virginia and retired from there in 2001. After retirement from one of the largest shipping ports in the United States, he came back to his childhood homeplace and enjoyed a peaceful and solitude reunion with his heritage, as Ronzil was very proud of his Lynch and Stutler roots. The Lynch’s were known for being self educators and political. The Stutlers were true mountain men and survivors. This combination of ancestry made Ronzil the wise and authentic man that he was. To have a conversation with Ronzil was to have a conversation of yesteryear and the gool ole days. He leaves us with many great stories.

Ronzil leaves behind daughters, Ronda (Mark) Cain a n d Terra (Charlie) Buckalew, son Russell Lynch, grandchildren Emily Metheney, Chloe James, Elijah  and Noah Buckalew, great grandchildren Atalaya and Maeley Metheney and Sutton Buckalew, sister Marlyn Settle and someone who recently became dear to him, Gail Lipsey.

In addition to his parents Ronzil is predeceased by his brother Larry Lynch and son Clifford Lynch.

An announcement of arrangements will be made soon, with the assistance of Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc.
