Roy L. Radabaugh Obituary

Roy L. Radabaugh, 85, of Mineral Wells, WV, passed away August 6, 2024, at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.

He was born April 8, 1939, in DeKalb, Gilmer County, WV, to the late Oren and Evelyn Davis Radabaugh.

He married Jane Shires of Lewisburg, WV.  They celebrated 61 years of marriage in July 2024.

Others surviving are son Craig Radabaugh (Missy), daughter Marcia Radabaugh (Philip Mahone), grandchildren Ashley Brandenburg (Jeff), Justin Radabaugh (Jesica), Brooke Radabaugh (Tim), Kylee Radabaugh, and Trasean Owens (Trysten), great-grandchildren Jayden, Jordan, Jaelyn, Jaselyn, Landon, Chase, Kinzlee, Reese, Fallyn, Taegan, and Tilly Grace, sister-in-law Willadean C. Radabaugh, brother-in-law Tom Shires (Martha), and his cat Paris.

Roy was a 1957 graduate of Tanner High School in Gilmer County, WV.  He attended Glenville State College earning a BA degree.  He received an MA degree in Education Administration from West Virginia University.  Roy was a teacher at Edison Junior High School for five years and served as Assistant Principal of Parkersburg High School for 30 years.

Roy was a member of the Board of Directors of the WEE Federal Credit Union and Commissioner for the Mineral Wells Public Service District from January 1996 to August 2024.  He was proud of the projects completed with Mineral Wells Public Service District Manager Todd Anderson and crew.

Roy enjoyed spending time and hosting gatherings of family and friends at The Farm in Gilmer County, WV.  He loved being with his grandkids and great-grandkids, attending their activities, Amish history and culture, genealogy, travel, and photography.  Roy enjoyed West Virginia history and was a Knight of the West Virginia Golden Horseshoe.

In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by brother Fred Radabaugh and sisters Mary and Doris Radabaugh.

At his request, there will be a private  graveside service at Pisgah Cemetery, Glenville, WV.
