A recent request was made for suggestions to rename the Sports Complex of Calhoun Middle High School. A motion by Board Member, Mitchell Morgan was put forth and seconded by Jason Arnold to rename the complex in honor of Former Coach Mike Stump.

Michelle Stump, daughter of Mike Stump, provided information of the stats and multiple honors that her father had been given locally and nationally. She told the School Board members that she believed her father should be honored by the School for his many contributions to the school and community.

Superintendent Fitzwater said that he too believed that Mike Stump should be recognized in some way because of the lives he has touched across the State. After discussion the matter was tabled for a later meeting with Fitzwater stating that this was a conversation starter and that the School has had many stakeholders who have contributed throughout the years that should also be recognized by putting their names to events and areas within the sporting complex.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:24 p.m.
