
Mark English, Artisan, proudly stands among the sawdust that was sawn and whittled away to create a tribute to the American Soldiers of the the wars carved into the base. A fitting tribute he thought, once he discovered that the trees were planted by World War I Veteran Lynn Oles, who brought the trees back from China.
The first tree in completion (pictures 3 and 4 of this article) was carved to honor those who serve and have served in the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department.
