Bridgeport, West Virginia – State Senator Ben Queen announced today that he will seek reelection to the West Virginia State Senate, continuing his service to the people of Harrison, Taylor, Lewis, Gilmer, and Calhoun counties.
“Serving this region has been the honor of my life,” Queen said. “For the past nine years, I have shown up every day focused on one simple goal of creating opportunities so people can live, work, and raise their families right here in West Virginia.”

Queen currently serves as Senate Republican Caucus Chair and is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, where he has helped responsibly balance the state budget while prioritizing economic growth, education, and long term economic stability. He also holds leadership roles related to energy, economic development, and infrastructure, with a focus on positioning West Virginia to compete in a changing economy.
Throughout his time in office, Queen has emphasized listening to constituents, visiting schools and businesses, and working with local leaders to solve problems.
Queen said he is proud to represent a region that plays a critical role in powering West Virginia’s economy. He emphasized the importance of supporting responsible energy development while continuing to invest in the infrastructure needed to attract new jobs and strengthen communities across North Central West Virginia.
Queen made the announcement Tuesday night during a gathering of supporters at the Bridgeport Conference Center, where he spoke about his record and priorities for the years ahead.
“We have to be relentless about creating jobs and preparing our workforce,” Queen said. “That means supporting education, listening to employers, investing in energy development, and making sure opportunity reaches every corner of our state.”
Queen also spoke about how becoming a father has shaped his perspective on leadership and responsibility.

“Arthur has taught me more than any job ever will,” Queen said. “Every decision we make should be about the kind of West Virginia we are building for the next generation.”
Looking ahead, Queen said his focus remains on expanding workforce participation, strengthening education, and continuing to build the energy and infrastructure foundation needed for long term growth.
“I am committed to showing up, listening, and delivering results every single day,” Queen said.
Queen was first elected to the West Virginia Legislature in 2016 as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. In 2022, he was elected to his first term in the West Virginia State Senate.
Queen is a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, where he lives with his wife Meredith and their son Arthur.
