Ten Students Awarded Nursing Assistant Pins

Submitted by Rebecca Swisher

Ten students were awarded their Nursing Assistant pin on May 6th at Calhoun Gilmer’s first, stand-alone, CNA Pinning Ceremony.

Receiving their pin signifies the students have completed all eligibility requirements to sit for the OHFLAC CNA Registry Exam.

The history and meaning of the ceremony were presented by Jaiden Francis, Cameron Cogar, Haley Patterson, and Lauren Lovejoy.

Pins were presented and placed on students by a person of their choosing that has assisted them in obtaining their certification. Following pinning, a candle lighting ceremony and the Nightingale Pledge were completed by those receiving pins, signifying their entrance into the sister and brotherhood of the nursing field.

Mr. Bryan Sterns, CGCC Administrator, and Mrs. Kyre-Anna Minney, CGCC Asst. Administrator, gave the closing address, followed with the blessing of the meal by Tobias Bone, a CGCC student, and guest of Lauren Lovejoy.
