Tracy Shane Johnson confesses to Drug Crime

Tracy Shane Johnson appeared on April 20 with counsel Daniel Minardi before Judge Anita Harold Ashley to enter a guilty plea to the charge of Conspiracy to Commit a Felony in Violation of Chapter 60A. Ms. Johnson has been held in the Central Regional Jail since October 15, 2021 facing charges from Clay County that were related to the charges now pending in Calhoun. Today she waived her rights to be indicted by the grand jury, but rather confessing guilt and requesting sentence from Judge Ashley. She faces not less than 2 years, nor more than 10 years in penitentiary for her confessed crime, payment of court costs as well as being unable to own a fire arm.

The State’s evidence against Tracy Johnson came from a search and arrest warrant issued out of Clay County, but executed by Calhoun’s Cpl. CJ Myers. When Cpl. Myers served the warrant he observed heroin and other drugs packaged for delivery. When Judge Ashley ask Johnson to describe the events that led to her arrest she stated that ”She purchased bad drugs that weren’t any good and ask friends to help her get rid of them so she could buy other drugs.” This was evidence entered through her phone records.

Judge Ashley continued the case for pre-sentence investigation by Probation Officer Alicia Lawson. Sentencing is scheduled for June 9 at 9:15 a.m.
