U.S. Senate Candidate Chris Rose Meets with Local Republicans

The Calhoun County Republican Executive Committee met Tuesday, June 20th for their regular monthly meeting in Grantsville. U.S. Senate Candidate, Chris Rose, attended the meeting to promote his 2024 run for U.S. Senate in West Virginia.

Rose spoke to those in attendance about being a fourth-generation coal miner who was born and raised in the southern coalfields of Appalachia. He grew up in McDowell County, West Virginia, and, along with his family, lived through and witnessed the economic damage and decline from decades of governmental overreach and regulations. The War on Coal destroyed many businesses and communities, and many of Chris’ family, friends, and loved ones were forced to move away from the Mountain State to seek employment. Chris and his family decided to stay and fight for West Virginia and its coal and gas industries, and that is a fight that he continues today.

Chris, calling himself “West Virginia’s Blue-Collar Conservative, “said that he is running to be the next United States Senator from West Virginia because, like many others, he is tired of career politicians and elitist bureaucrats that put our country last. Believing that the current establishment prioritizes lobbyists, special interest groups, and other nations above the American people he wants to put the American people in the forefront of the Nations priorities. The country is dealing with record inflation that is eroding away the middle class; unsecured borders with an endless flow of illegal immigrants and drugs into our country; supply chain issues; unsecured elections; and the continuation of outsourcing American jobs to other countries. Instead of addressing these issues, current national leadership’s focus is on sending hundreds of billions of dollars to other nations and attacking our constitutional rights.

Chris Rose is an ultra-MAGA conservative and political outsider who stands with President Trump and believes we must always put America first. Chris believes that it is time that the working class has a seat at the table in Washington. “The political class had their chance, they failed, and now it is our turn,” Rose said.

Rose answered questions after he spoke and a time of refreshments was enjoyed by everyone. Following the break the Republicans reconvened to take care of the business of bylaws. The next meeting will be held on July 18th, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grantsville Firehall at which time an election of the now vacant Vice Chair will be held. Those nominated for the office were Ari White and Shari Johnson.

Members present were Chairman – Roger Propst, Treasurer – Amanda White, Secretary – Shari Johnson, Tony Arthur, Crystal Arthur, Melissa West, Eric Lupardus, Steve Boggs. Others present were, Mayor Robert Petrovsky, April Petrovsky, Jerry Howell, Emma Howell, Cheryl Plato, Michael Plato, Larry Whited, Graham Knight, and Gaylen Duskey
