Following a 3:30 p.m. dispatch multiple Fire Departments battled a large two story dwelling fire on Russet Road. The house was located almost 5 miles outside of Grantsville and was fully engulfed when the Fire Fighters arrived on scene. Grantsville, Upper West Fork and Gilmer County Fire Departments fought the fire but the older dwelling burnt quickly. Sam and Paula Verbus lost everything in the fire. The cause was not determined.
The couple was left with only the clothes on their backs. Paula and Sam both wear a medium top and pants, Sam’s actual pant size is 30/30. Ridgeview is uncertain about where they’ll be staying, but once that information is determined this article will updated.
