West Virginia Garden Challenge

Growers, it’s time to sign up for your 2024 #GrowThisWV seeds! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‘

This year, we’re launching the Grow This Throwdown! This state-wide competition will allow counties to compete against each other for grant funding for projects to improve their communities. All you have to do to participate is sign up for the program using the link below, and then complete challenges to earn points for your county. The counties with the most points will win the grant funding. ๐Ÿ’ฐ

If you participated in Grow This 2023, you already have a leg up on the competition. Last year, you grew peppers, carrots and kale. You learned about the unique challenges each of those crops present, and probably have a good idea how to do things better next time. Well โ€” you didn’t know it at the time, but last year was a practice round for 2024. We’ll be growing different varieties of the same crops in 2024: Jimmy Nardello peppers, red Russian kale and scarlet nantes carrots. ๐Ÿฅ•๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿฅฌ

Your seeds will arrive in April, just in time to get them started. But stay tuned, the challenges will begin soon!๐Ÿ‘€
