Luke King made the catch of a life time today in the Little Kanawha River in Braxton County. His Social Media post said ”This morning my dream came true. I caught the new WV state record musky for both length and weight. She was 55 1/16” long and weighed 51 pounds on certified scales.” That post has been shared well over 1,000 times in just a few hours.
I ask Luke where he made his record breaking catch, and he was quick and polite to give me the general information. I think he’ll be keeping that fishing hole a secret for a while, especially with the Calhoun Musky Tournament coming up in just a few weeks. The record breaking catch was released again into the Little Kanwha River to perhaps make another fisher’s dream come true on another day.
