Willard James White, 89 of Mt. Zion, WV, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at Miletree Center, Spencer, WV.
He was born in Raleigh County, WV on April 26, 1936, a son of the late Elwood and Belle Gayheart White.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Arnold, Willie, and Terry White; sister Nellie Cook; son Frank R. White; and granddaughter Stepheny Jo White.
Willard is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Norma Faye Price White; son, James (Betty) White; daughter Chrystal (Michael) Reip; grandson Thaddeus White; granddaughter Hannah Johnson; daughter-in-law, Connie White; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Davey, Reford, Carson, and Cesco. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Willard served in the United States Army, being honorably discharged, and worked as a coal miner before becoming an avid wood worker in his later years. He also loved to fish and hunt and was an exceptional all around handyman.
A graveside service will be conducted by Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc, Grantsville, WV, and held at noon on June 4, 2025 at Madison Memory Gardens, 25053 Veterans Memorial Bypass, Madison, WV, 25130.
