“You can bet that I will mention Calhoun County….I can’t help myself!”

That is not only a direct quote of Crystal Mersh, Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Medicines Company, that is her mantra. She is proud of her Calhoun heritage and has been an avid supporter and voice for the County and she uses that voice in the presence of some of the highest State officials.

Today at the WV Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Summit, four new companies will be officially be welcomed to WV. And American Medicines Company will be one of them.

Crystal said in a social media post that she ”is proud to be one of them. I will be on a panel and you can bet that I will mention Calhoun County….I can’t help myself!” It is that zeal that has caused many in her home county to fall in love with her, but not everyone. She can be brash in matters of political leadership, especially when they fail to do their job or treat their constituents poorly. Ridgeview News may often sound like her cheerleader, but in reality she just happens to be a person that makes news happen. She has captured the attention of State Leadership in the same manner, else she’d not be on the agenda of today’s meeting at the Greenbrier, hobnobbing with the Governor and others of stature.

Today’s meeting begins the largest gathering of business, industry, education, financial, and political leaders from around West Virginia who will convene at the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 86th Annual Meeting & Business Summit through Sept. 2 at the beautiful Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
