***CORRECTION: Alvin Engelke of Creston contacted The Ridgeview News with an update correction on this morning’s report on the Creston ATV accident on Saturday. Mr. Engelke stated that according to Tammy Tanner and her friend Bob who was an EMT, the two of them came upon the couple (as well as others) who then went to Argil Jones’ who called the ambulance, which got there in about 15 minutes. There was an RN in a group slightly behind Tammy and Bob, which provided first aid until the ambulance arrived. Ridgeview News was not on scene. I appreciate all information provided and realize that sometimes things get lost in the translation. The most important part of this article is that the couple survived the incident and our prayers continue for their healing.

The Creston Poker Run held on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 had a serious accident when a couple riding a four wheeler missed a curve and traveled over a very steep embankment.*** Even though the couple suffered serious injuries, the two managed to walk to a well location where they made contact with Minnie Hamilton EMS and the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department.

After transport to the Brooksville Baptist Church, the male patient was flown by helicopter to a larger hospital due to a spinal injury and a head injury. The female patient who suffered a laceration to the head was transported to Minnie Hamilton Health System and later released. The names of the victims have not been released.

Sgt. C.J. Weekley of the West Virginia State Police is the investigating officer.
