Just yards away from last last night’s downed tree incident, Sharlett Christian ran out of gas in the middle of the highway on Route 5 West of Grantsville around 11:00 a.m., Friday June 23. Calhoun Control dispatched Police, Ambulance and the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department to the scene of what was said to be a two car signal six (car accident) but ended up being a Good Samaritan stopping to assist Ms. Christian. Also on scene was Sheriff Graham Knight and DNR Jonathan Holcomb.
Trooper Brian Young was the investigating officer. After running her information through the WV State Police information center, it was discovered that Sharlett Christian’s license was suspended. She was charged with Driving Suspended, as well as No Insurance and received a warning citation for Unsafe Vehicle.
Following a search of her vehicle, Christian left the scene on foot and her vehicle was then towed by Westfall’s Wrecker Service.
