FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1230 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHEASTERN ROANE, WEST CENTRAL BRAXTON, SOUTHEASTERN CALHOUN AND NORTHWESTERN CLAY COUNTIES… At 907 AM EDT,
Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen, with amounts near 5 inches occurring in Nebo including Sleight Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing flash flooding. SOURCE…Radar. IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include… Big Otter, Wallback, Amma, Nebo, Servia and Wilsie. This includes the following streams and drainages… Tate Creek, Henry Fork, O`Brein Fork, Walker Creek, Laurel Creek, and Big Otter Creek.
