Paul Lee Slack, 72 of Berkeley Springs, WV passed away Jan.11, 2024 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore after an extended illness. He was born; in Wirt County, the son of the late Brooks and Doris (Valentine) Slack. He was a 1969 graduate of Wirt County High School and a 1973 graduate of Glenville State.
Paul was a school teacher since 1974, taught at Wirt County Schools, Roane County Schools, Calhoun County Schools, Morgan County, and Berkeley County Schools.
Was a member of Wirt Lodge No. 82, A.F. & A.M. Elizabeth and a Scottish Rites, Parkersburg 1977.
He truly loved his family and enjoyed spending most of his time with his grandchildren. He loved history and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Shirley (Hall) Slack; daughter Angie Slack and son Ryan Slack (Halie). Grandchildren Addison Slack and Oliver Slack. Siblings: Larry Slack (Susaneth), Karen Savage (Duane), Margie Allen (Roger), Joyce Boggs, Lucy Sprouse and Kathy Gabriel. Several Nieces and Nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roy Slack and sister Kimberly Grimm.
Services will be Saturday Jan. 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth with the Rev Jeff Baumer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will be at Two Ripple Cemetery of Elizabeth .
