Mt. Zion PSD Looking For Information Regarding Burglary

Mt. Zion PSD Board President, Aryeh White, confirmed that the local public service district office was broken into between 7 p.m. July 31st and 7 a.m. on August 1st.

Mr. White said that although the PSD lost some tools in the robbery the greater expense incurred was the damage to the overhead door. The criminal also broke into the re-chlorination room requiring the PSD to contact the state for guidance. The result was having to dump the chemicals in use and replace them but they did not advise a boil water advisory.

Mr. White said “We are working with law enforcement to determine who was responsible, reviewing camera footage, and updating our security to prevent a recurrence.”

Saying further, “As PSDs are by law non-profit, the damage to and theft of our water infrastructure falls on our nearly 500 water customers. If any members of the public have any information, the PSD and its customers would appreciate them bringing it to us or the authorities.”
