A two vehicle crash was dispatched at around 5 p.m. Sunday evening at the intersection of Route 16 and Route 7, just past Grantsville Foodland.
Freddie Jones and his granddaughter had just left Foodland and were turning in from the North Bound lane (CORRECTION: were traveling north on Route 16)in a burgundy Chevrolet Equinox. Sarah Carpenter, was traveling south across Route 16 and had went onto Route 7 intersection when Mr. Jones struck her Black GMC Acadia in the side.
Air bags deployed in both vehicles. Mr. Jones’ granddaughter suffered minor injuries but all other parties reported to be fine.
Sr. Trooper J.D. Richards is the investigating officer, Grantsville VFD were dispatched and on scene for traffic control.
Westfall’s Wrecker Service and Mason’s Towing of Elizabeth were called to remove vehicles from the scene.
