Basil C Brown Jr., 85 of Mt Zion, WV passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at CAMC General Hospital.
Basil was born in Clay County, WV the son of the Late Basil C. Brown Sr, and Lola (Burchett) Brown McCumbers. He worked in the Timber for many years, the West Virginia Department of Highways, and in the Oilfields for Jim Prusack. He loved playing music, and was the lead singer in Gospel Crossroads Group.
He will be dearly missed by his son Basil Brown, siblings Linda McCumbers, Mary Witt, Carrol Webster, Polly (Denver) Helmick and Susan Waggoner. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to both his parents he was preceded in death by his Wife of 57 years Mary (Sturms) Brown, and two brothers Roger and Art Brown.
Services will be held at 1:00PM, Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the Cremo Community Church. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of the service on Sunday. Interment will follow services at Wright Cemetery.
