In 1958, Dick Jarvis came back to Grantsville, WV from WVU as a registered pharmacist, and has been a staple in the community from that day forward. Ever loyal to the health care of the citizens of the County, J&B Pharmacy has been in business for over 75 years providing medication, information and countless memories at the soda fountain still in operation in the front of the store.
First Baptist Church celebrated Col. Jarvis with a birthday cake following an evening dinner before their Wednesday Night Service on October 16th. At the age of 90, Dick Jarvis continues to keep up on local news, events and church and is one of the most civic minded men in the community.
