James David “JD” Hathaway, age 83, of Elkview, WV, died October 16, 2024 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV. James (J.D.) was born in Grantsville, Calhoun County, son of Orvan Todd and Eulanee Hathaway.
James is survived by his wife Lorene Hathaway, daughter Kimberly Hathaway of Elkview, and son Michael Hathaway (Joan) of Red House, WV. Grandchildren: Michelle Meredith (Billy), Brittany Flowers (Brandon), Kristina Marcum, Megan Harrison (Dylan) and John Hathaway (Haley), Step Granddaughter, Amanda Abshire (Kyle). 10 Great Grandchildren. Sister Loretta Propst (Roger) of Grantsville, WV. In addition, there are many relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orvan and Eulanee Hathaway; brothers: Richard, Robert, Carlton, Wesley, and Ernest, Great Grandchildren: Hunter and Alexzander.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Elkview, WV, with Pastor Lee Swor and Pastor Curtis Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Collins Community Cemetery, Stumptown, WV, with Pastor Curtis Smith officiating the graveside service.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 am -1:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
