A Picturesque Hallmark Christmas Event in the Books for 2024

Friday, December 5th, 2024 came and went in the midst of an internet outage in Grantsville and the surrounding areas, which always throws Ridgeview News into a tail spin on news coverage. But, I have to say, the modern outage of wifi did not interfere with the Spirit of Christmas and an old fashioned holiday in the town of Grantsville.

For days and nights on end, several volunteers worked on the candy confections for Cordelia’s Candy store that may have tired us out, but it did not disappoint with the end result.

Local Stores pulled out the stops and let the Christmas Spirit flow with store decor and shopping opportunities, staying open later hours to accommodate the town full families willing to brave the mid twenty temperatures to celebrate the season with their neighbors.

Evening festivities included a Cody Eagle Concert sponsored by Minnie Hamilton Health Systems and a Christmas Parade filled with Christmas light floats, School performances, community participation and of course a visit from Mr. And Mrs. Claus!

Local aerial photographer Dakota Laughlin also shot live footage of the parade from the sky that can be viewed on his business Facebook page under Laughlin Aerial LLC.

Immediately following the parade, The 1982 Foundation with the assistance of Santa’s Elves opened the second and third floors of the Foundation building on Main Street to well above 300 children who were given the opportunity to shop (free of charge) for a family member and each received a candy treat from Cordelia’s Candy Confections store after having the gifts wrapped and a card made at Elvira’s gift wrapping station.

This event would not be possible without the generous donations of QXP, The 1982 Foundation, their volunteers and the countless community volunteers that put every aspect of the events together.
