William Harold Starcher Obituary

William Harold Starcher, 75, of Big Bend, WV, passed away on March 10, 2025 after a long illness.

Born on January 18, 1950, he was a devoted husband to Patricia Starcher and a loving father to Laura Moon, Lisa Honaker, and Will Starcher.

Dad was hard-working and dedicated to his family. He spent over 20 years working at ABC Chance in Parkersburg until it closed its doors. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family, playing games, sports, fishing, and traveling to the mountains.

Though Dad may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man who put family first. His love for sports something he shared with his son most of all. Fishing was another love that he enjoyed doing with his wife and family until he was no longer able.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Starcher, his children: Laura Moon (Thomas Moon) of Greenwood, SC, Lisa Honaker (Joseph Honaker) of Ronceverte, WV, Will Starcher (Jessica Starcher) of Cool Ridge, WV; his grandchildren Kaitlyn Mullens (Caleb Mullens) of Maysville, NC, Avery Honaker, Tristan Honaker, Alex Starcher, Caleb Starcher and great-grandchildren, Briella Mullens and Nathan Mullens; his siblings Patricia Criss, Genita Starcher, Bernard Starcher, Glover Starcher (Junior), many nieces and nephews, and preceded in death by Sue McNabb, Sharon Sturms and Wanda Miller, Gene Starcher, parents Glover and Delma Starcher and infant daughter, Crystal Starcher.

We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. The quote from Psalm 116:15 “Blessed in the eyes of the lord is the death of one of his saints” will provide lasting comfort.

He wished to be cremated and a graveside family service will be held in the future. The date is yet to be determined. Dad did not wish to have a funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in his honor. Stump Funeral Home & Cremation, Inc.,107 Market St., Grantsville, WV 26147, is honored to assist the Starcher family with arrangements.
