In a complaint filed by Sheriff Graham Knight in the Magistrate Court of Calhoun, Thomas Gene Collins was arrested following an incident on May 21st, 2025 at approximately 10:25 p.m. in Grantsville, WV.
Sheriff Knight made contact with Thomas Gene Collins at around 11:10 p.m. on the aforementioned date. When Sheriff Knight arrived, Collins was heavily intoxicated and bleeding from his right eye. Collins informed Sheriff Knight that “He was not needed and that no charges were needed.”
The victim however stated that after Tommy (Thomas Collins) had drank heavily all day he became suicidal and threatening. He and another family member had removed children from the immediate area, for which when Tommy discovered it he became aggressive and threatening, lunging toward and placing his hands around the victim’s throat. Tommy Collins did also have a knife in his hand and attempted to give chase when another family member intervened, physically wrestling Tommy Collins to the ground and retrieving the knife from him.
Collins was then arrested by Sheriff Graham Knight for – Domestic Battery – unlawfully and intentionally making physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the victim of this incident.
Collins has been released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond and has been ordered to appear for a hearing on June 24th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in Calhoun Magistrate Court.
