
Merylin Sue Freeman, 78 of Sand Fork, WV; departed this earthly life in the late morning hours of Sunday, June 1, 2025 at her residence on Sliding Run Road following an extended illness.
She was born January 16, 1947 in Weston, WV; daughter of the late Ezra and Cora (Smith) Cutwright.
Sue is a former employee of Kenney Shoe Factory in Glenville and has been a homemaker most of her adult life. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed caring for her family, cooking, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. Sue is also a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork.
Surviving is her companion, Richard Freeman of Sand Fork, 5 children, Terry Freeman of Hepzibah, WV; Jerry Freeman of Glenville, Gary Freeman of Parkersburg, Sherry Shepler of Pennsboro, WV; and Larry Freeman (Nicole) of Rock Cave, WV; and a brother, Dwayne Cutwright of Weston, WV.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Trisha Anderson (Jason), Jaime Losh (Mark), Jacob Freeman, Todd Hacker (Jessica), Elizabeth Echard, Amanda Sprouse (Billy) Cora Freeman, Jennifer Freeman, Gracie Freeman (Levi), Tyler Freeman, and Megan Freeman, 17 great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Slader, Sloane, Spencer, Peyton, Aubrey, Meredith, Jayden, Dalton, Kaylee, Lacey, Sebastian, Penelope, Hailey, Lillian, Jordan, and Maggie, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her parents, Sue is preceded in death by 3 siblings, Eleanor Henline, Bob Cutwright, and Junior Cutwright.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Wednesday June 4, 2025 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Heater Cemetery near Orlando, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM; Wednesday at the mortuary in Glenville.
