Rev. Craig Blankenship filled his regular appointment at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.
The Creston area Neighborhood Watch will have a litter pickup Saturday, May 7 starting at 9 A. M. at the Community Building.
There were 345 riders at the spring Creston ATV poker run. The community would like to thank all those who came and rode, those who set up [and took down] the route, those who sent out the e-mails, the cards, put up the signs, fixed & served the food, sold the tee shirts, sold the tickets, filled out all the necessary paperwork, copied the maps, etc. Also a big thanks to all the merchants who donated in various ways to make the event a success. Heather Cortez came in from Chicago with items as door prizes and to raffle. Most said the ride was great and loved going through the mud and ample water like fording both Little Spring Creek and Spring Creek at the Beaver Dam ford & going up Rock Camp. One comely rider said that she liked better the green & blue Hatfield & McCoy rides. It was noted that those might be called "the bunny trails". Barry Wiseman won the 50/50 and Nathan Shaw won first followed by Shawana Winans & Stacy Hanlon. All of the hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos & cheese, corn bread & beans were sold and the kitchen crew was "worn out". As usual a few chariots broke down and Mike Davis lost control of his machine near Singing Hills and took a roll over the hill. He said that he was sore. Rev. & Mrs. Craig Blankenship and State Sen. Mike Azinger also came and visited with the workers & riders. Some riders chose to go through the mudholes and tippy places that were labeled for the "He Men & Amazon Wimmen." Some got to check out their winches.
Randy Whited who now lives in Titusville Florida noted that "he came all the way from Florida to ride". He also noted that he was trying to bag a gobbler.
Kathleen Cervone's sister Linda has been diagnosed with cancer.
The Creston Community Building received a $1,700 grant from a special program set up by the West Virginia legislature. Sen. Donna Boley was instrumental in several Wirt County entities getting almost $70,000 on this round of awards.
One of the Calhoun state road dump trucks ended up in the ditch out at Annamoriah not so long back. The Wirt road crew was busy Friday in Creston patching the pothole or imperfections in the surface of the roadway or injustices as they sometimes are called.
Gloria Norman noted that since it was in the dark of the moon she was planting her potatoes. One fellow was giving her a rough time because her onions weren't planted but she reminded him that there had been quite a bit of rain and she didn't want to "mud them in". Having one's own food will be very significant this year as the forgetful fellow said that there would be food shortages and there are now part empty shelves in many stores. Since January there have been 17 major food & fertilizer facilities that have been destroyed by fire or being struck by airplanes. The average for such is about 8/year. Also, for unexplained reasons a major rail road has reduced fertilizer shipments by 20%. Black Rock is one of the big owners of the rail line & that outfit made the news when W. Va. ceased business with them since they were "woke" and were against coal, oil & gas, the energy & raw material sources that run the entire world. The ruling junta decided that this summer gasolene should be 15% ethanol instead of 10%, apparently at the behest of ADM [Archer Daniels Midland, supermarket to the world]. If there is to be a shortage of food the corn really shouldn't be used as a substitute for gasolene but one has to grease certain palms to keep the deep state intact.
Sen. Shelly Capito went over to Marietta to campaign for Mrs. Jane Timken who is running for US Senate. Her family moved their bearing manufacturing facilities to communist China. Too bad about Canton & Ohio workers. Also, it was learned that Mrs. Capito had voted to confirm the head of Homeland Security who has allowed now 2 million illegal aliens into the nation. It is now estimated that at least 20% of the people in the United States are illegal aliens. Now the fellow has established the Orwellian "Department of Truth" to control what people think, say and write. It has been noted that the federal agency likely has more ammunition on hand than does likely the U S Army.
The World Health Organization (WHO) the outfit who covered for the leak of the deadly virus from the Wuhan germ warfare lab has announced that it intends to take over all health matters world wide as part of the great reset.
Local residents have been feasting on morels and ramps. Also, poke greens are now up. Larkspur, jack in the pulpit, star chickweed, wind ginger and paw paws are in bloom.
It was reported that Houston Natural Resources is going to purchase Cunningham Energy. The company has wells in Wood, Roane, Clay, Kanawha & other counties as well as large acreages in the west and in Quebec. EQT the Pittsburgh based firm announced that it firm is going to build export terminals to ship LNG [liquified natural gas] to Europe & the orient. In W. Va. Marcellus & Utica drilling continues in the northern counties and HG plans more work in the Clover & Griffithsville secondary oil recovery fields. When setting up the trail out on Craig Ridge the folks had to move to allow Butch Deer's oil truck to get a load of Pennsylvania grade crude oil.
The price of Pennsylvania grade crude is $103.69/bbl. with condensate, formerly called Appalachian light sweet, fetching $89.69/bbl. with Marcellus & Utica light bringing $94.69 & medium $103.69/bbl. Henry Hub, Louisiana natural gs is $7.24/mmbtu.

With all the talk I have heard recently about having a shortage of law enforcement people and no having the resources to hire a law enforcement person in the Town of Grantsville – at least I think I heard that during the internet broadcast of a recent town council meeting – it got me to Read More…
