Jeannette (Furr) Dean Obituary

Jeannette (Furr) Dean, 84 of Burnsville, WV; departed this earthly life in the evening hours of Monday, December 22, 2025 at her residence, following an extended illness.

She was born December 7, 1941 (D-Day) in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Frederick Paul Furr and Frances (Hayes) Posey

Jeannette is a graduate of Sand Fork High School, class of 1959. She was the co-owner of Central Service Station and Dean’s Wrecker Service in Burnsville for many years with her husband Ronnie until his passing in 2007. In her spare time, Jeannette enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching basketball, football, and NASCAR on TV, and she was a Christian by faith.

Jeannette was a member of the Burnsville Rebeka Lodge, Burnsville CEO’s, and attended the Little Kanawha Independence Church near Burnsville when she could.

On December 4, 1959 Jeannette was united in marriage to Ronald F. “Ronnie” Dean, who preceded her in death on May 14, 2007.

From that union a loving daughter survives, Kimberly Dean-Marsh and husband Maynard of Burnsville, and a sister, Cathy Shackleford and husband James of Troy, WV; and sister-in-law, Roydetta Dean Cutright and husband Butch of Valley Bend, WV.

Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other wonderful family and friends, and special caregivers, Sherry and Makayla Brown.

Along with her parents (Frederick and Frances) and husband (Ronnie), Jeannette is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Patsy Greynolds, and Ilene Brenwald, and 2 infant brothers, Gary and Michael Furr.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday, December 28, 2025 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Haymond Cemetery near Burnsville. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon – 2:00 PM; Sunday at the mortuary in Glenville.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to WV Caring Hospice, 519 G Road, Authurdale, WV 26410 or the Burnsville Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 152, Burnsville, WV 26335 in honor of Jeannette and Ronnie.
